Apple Health Data Missing from My Bio Age? A Checklist

Check source readings, Health permissions, sleep records, and sync timing when HRV, VO₂ max, or other Apple Health data is missing from My Bio Age.

When a metric is missing from My Bio Age, begin with the original record in Apple Health. There are three separate questions: was the value recorded, did it reach your iPhone, and can My Bio Age read it? A blank chart does not mean your health score is zero, and it does not automatically mean you denied access.

1. Check the measurement at its source

Open Health, find the relevant metric, and look at its recent records under Show All Data. Check the timestamp and the app or device that supplied it. Under Data Sources & Access you can also review contributing sources. Apple's Health data management guide explains these controls and how source priority works within Health.

Write down which metric and date are missing before making changes. If Health itself has no recent record, changing My Bio Age permissions cannot create one. If the record is present, move on to access and date-range checks.

2. Review My Bio Age's read permissions

In Health, open your profile, find Apps under Privacy, and select My Bio Age. Review access for the categories you want to use. Menu labels can vary with your iOS version. Allowing one category, such as Steps, does not grant access to every other category, such as Sleep or Heart Rate Variability.

Apple deliberately limits what apps can learn about denied read access. Its HealthKit authorization documentation explains that a denied read can look like an empty result to an app. This is why a missing value cannot reliably tell My Bio Age whether permission was refused or no matching measurement exists.

3. Check the kind of data you expect

  • VO₂ max: Apple Watch does not use indoor workouts for its Cardio Fitness estimates. Follow the VO₂ max checklist.
  • Sleep: My Bio Age uses recorded asleep intervals. A bedtime schedule or an in-bed record alone does not supply the same information.
  • HRV: My Bio Age reads SDNN samples. A score displayed by another app may use a different metric or may not be written to Health.
  • Blood pressure: the app reads available Health entries. It does not turn your watch into a blood-pressure cuff.

Also consider watch settings. Apple notes that Low Power Mode disables background heart-rate measurements, including during sleep. A change in recording coverage can affect which signals are available, even when you have not changed My Bio Age permissions.

4. Give existing data time to appear

Once your watch's readings appear in Health on your iPhone, reopen My Bio Age. Initial setup loads recent information before bringing in older history. Check the same dates in both apps and allow the import to complete. A weekly Index and a daily metric also use different time windows, so they need not change at the same moment.

5. Ask for help without sending your health history

If the gap remains, contact My Bio Age support with your iOS version, app version, affected metric, and whether recent records are visible in Health. You do not need to include medical records or a full Health export. If you choose to send a screenshot, remove details you do not want to share.

Avoid deleting your Health history or entering invented measurements to make a chart look complete. My Bio Age's calculations use the data available on your device; support cannot inspect that history remotely. See our privacy policy and getting-started overview for more detail.
