WHOOP Alternatives: Five Options and Who Each One Suits
Five WHOOP alternatives compared with sources, from free Apple Watch apps to subscription-free bands, plus when staying with WHOOP makes more sense.
By My Bio Age
People usually look for a WHOOP alternative for one of three reasons: they already own an Apple Watch and do not want a second wearable, they do not want an annual membership, or they want a similar band from another company. My Bio Age is one of the options below and wrote this page, so weigh it accordingly.
When to stay with WHOOP
Stay if you value a screen-free sensor with a long battery life and coaching in one membership, and you use its heart features on the Life tier. We did not find all of that in one product below. Our My Bio Age vs WHOOP page goes through the trade-offs in detail.
The options
| Product | Age number | What you need | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| WHOOP | WHOOP Age, from about six months of data, and Pace of Aging, from the last 30 days, shown on a scale from -1.0x to 3.0x. Both update weekly. 1 | A WHOOP sensor on a Peak or Life membership. Healthspan unlocks after 21 recoveries in your first 31 days and fully calibrates after 90 days. 2 | In the US, Peak is $239 a year and Life is $359 a year, each with a device included. One, at $199 a year, does not include Healthspan. 3, 4 |
| My Bio Age | MyBioAge Index™, a weekly wellness estimate with a 95% likely range and a confidence label. Pace of Aging shows the years of change in the Index over 12 and 24 weeks. 5 | An iPhone on iOS 26 or later. Apple Watch supplies most inputs but is optional. 6, 7 | Free, with no subscription, in-app purchases or account. 6 |
| Athlytic | Athlytic Age, which it describes as one number for your fitness. 8 | An iPhone on iOS 17 or later. Athlytic says Apple Watch is needed for most features. 8 | $29.99 a year or $4.99 a month, with a 7-day trial. 9 |
| Bevel | Biological Age, a Pro feature that updates every Monday. 10, 11 | An iPhone and a supported wearable. Bevel lists Apple Watch, Oura, Garmin, Amazfit and Google Health. 12 | A free tier for tracking. Pro, which adds Biological Age and Bevel Intelligence, is $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year. 10 |
| Garmin CIRQA | Garmin's CIRQA announcement does not list Fitness Age. 13 | A CIRQA band and a compatible iPhone or Android phone. 13 | $199.99 suggested US price, with no subscription required. 13 |
| Oura Ring | Cardiovascular Age, which Oura calls a slow-moving metric. 14 | An Oura Ring and an active membership. The first baseline needs at least 14 nights of data from the past 30 days. 14 | In the US, Ring 4 starts at $349 and Ring 5 at $399, plus membership at $5.99 a month or $69.99 a year. The first month is free for new members. 15, 16 |

1. Apple Watch with My Bio Age
Pick it if you already wear an Apple Watch and mostly want a weekly age estimate and daily recovery, training load, stress and circadian scores for free. Skip it if you want workout coaching, an open AI chat or an Android app.
2. Apple Watch with Athlytic
Pick it if you want the closest thing to a daily recovery and exertion routine on Apple Watch, and you are happy to pay a modest subscription. Skip it if you want no recurring cost, or you do not wear an Apple Watch, which Athlytic says most features need.
3. Bevel
Pick it if you want strain, sleep, recovery, nutrition and AI coaching in one iPhone app, and you may use wearables other than Apple Watch. Skip it if you want its age number for free, because Biological Age is part of Pro.
4. Garmin CIRQA
Pick it if you want a screen-free band like WHOOP without a subscription, and you are happy to review your data in Garmin Connect. Skip it if an age number matters to you, because Garmin’s announcement does not list Fitness Age for this band.
5. Oura Ring
Pick it if you would rather wear a ring than a band and care most about sleep. Skip it if you want to avoid buying hardware and a membership, since Oura needs both for most insights. See My Bio Age vs Oura Ring.
Before you switch
Scores with the same name do not carry over. A new product will build its own baseline, so expect a change in numbers that says nothing about your health. Export what you want to keep first. If you plan to read WHOOP’s data in another app, note that WHOOP says it does not export HRV to Apple Health.
